Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Road Watchers (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area) to use Road Watchers. By signing in you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Account responsibilities
You're responsible for activity under your account. Keep your sign-in methods secure. One person, one account — don't share accounts or misrepresent who you are.
4. Acceptable use
Road Watchers is for documenting vehicle-related incidents. Don't:
- Post threats, harassment, or content promoting violence.
- Identify uninvolved bystanders (kids, pedestrians, passengers). Focus on the driver and vehicle.
- Dox anyone, including drivers: no home addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, or similar personal information beyond a license plate and a public-road observation.
- Stalk, intimidate, or coordinate harassment of any person.
- Post content that's illegal where you live or where the Service is hosted.
- Upload malware, spam, or automated traffic.
- Attempt to access data that isn't yours or disrupt the Service.
5. Your content and license
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, and text you post (“Your Content”). By posting, you grant Road Watchers a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, adapt, and create derivative works from Your Content for the purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the Service. You represent that you have the rights to post what you post.
Public posts are public. Don't upload anything you wouldn't want a stranger, an employer, or a law-enforcement officer to see.
6. Moderation
Community members can downvote, flag, and comment. We may remove or hide content that violates these Terms or is flagged by the community, and we may suspend or terminate accounts. We aren't obligated to pre-screen posts and don't verify their accuracy.
7. DMCA / copyright
If you believe content on Road Watchers infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to the contact listed in our Privacy Policy. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.
8. Law enforcement cooperation
We cooperate with valid legal process. We may preserve, disclose, or take action on account information and content in response to court orders, subpoenas, or what we reasonably believe to be exigent circumstances (risk of serious harm).
9. Disclaimers
Road Watchers is a community archive. Reports are user-submitted and unverified — they are opinions and observations, not proof of guilt. The Service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee availability, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Road Watchers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenues, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, even if we knew such damages were possible.
11. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of the Service operator, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. [Operator to insert specific governing law and dispute-resolution forum.]
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
